A privately printed pair of books in the German language. They discuss and illustrate all the propaganda in the form of stamps, postcards, and letter sheets from WWI to the present. They are designed for the philatelic specialist, but contain information of interest to all psywar collectors.

Baldwin, R.E.: LAST HOPE - THE BLOOD CHIT STORY. Schiffer Military History, Atglen, PA, 1997.
This book is on the subject of blood chits, and gives the background of the government’s attempt to provide flyers with a means to escape enemy capture. It shows numerous American leaflets used to instruct local natives how to return flyers to allied lines.

A history of the organizations, policies and themes of propaganda used on their own population by the governments of Great Britain and Germany. No illustrations. A brief look at what the propaganda ministries were saying month by month.

Compared to most books on this subject, the text is very academic. However, it will be a valuable asset to those who specialize in propaganda against the Japanese Army.

Hyde, H. Montgomery: ROOM 3603. Farrar, Straus and Co., NY 1962.
The story of Sir William Stephenson, who ran British propaganda campaigns against Germany from his headquarters in New York City.
This book was written when information on the subject was still closely guarded by the British Offical Secrets Act. The British government commissioned Hyde to write it in reaction to the escape to the Soviet Union of spy Kim Philby, in an effort to blunt the effect of any disclosures about Stephenson's activities in America.

There is not much new information for the expert, but there are numerous illustrations, which are interesting and informative.
